What Parents Say about the Y

Step Up to Quality!

No surprise that most of our Early Education and School-Age Enrichment programs have earned “Step Up to Quality” recognition from the State of Ohio. All YMCA Early Childhood locations are Gold Rated centers.

This voluntary system verifies that, at minimum, our Y centers:

  • Provide your child with quality staff and teachers who complete 20 hours of specialized training each year
  • Offer teachers who fully understand Ohio’s early learning and development standards
  • Build strong relationships with families
  • Demonstrate their commitment to making the program even better every day

Great Staff Spell SUCCESS!

The #1 reason behind our success in child care and in being the area’s #1 child care provider? It’s simple – our staff and teachers.

The average tenure of our site directors is 10 years; of lead teachers, 6 years.

This experience and stability translate into higher-quality child development and education.

Our programs are licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and meet or exceed state standards.

Competitive Pricing

We invest where it strengthens the quality of your child’s development and education, and watch our pennies where it doesn’t. The result is quality child care at a very competitive price.

In the spirit of the “Y for All” philosophy, we strive to include every family interested in enrolling their child. In additional to public funds available to qualified families, the Y offers fee assistance based on annual household income.

And, we’re the only provider in town to give parents of part-time children/students the option of choosing the 1-3 day(s) most convenient for them.
