OUR HUB SCHOOLS

As part of our mission to strengthen community, the YMCA of Greater Toledo partners with Toledo Public Schools through the Community Hubs initiative — a collaboration of seven schools focused on meeting the academic, social, and wellness needs of students and families.

The Y proudly serves as the Lead Community Partner at Riverside Elementary and Rogers High School, helping bring resources, programs, and opportunities directly into our neighborhoods.

21st century community learning centers (cclc)

The YMCA of Greater Toledo proudly partners with local schools to provide 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) — programs designed to help students learn, grow, and thrive beyond the school day.

Our goal is simple: to help every student reach their full potential. Through engaging, hands-on enrichment, we support academic achievement while also nurturing creativity, leadership, and character development.

What We Offer

The 21st CCLC program provides students and families with a range of high-quality learning opportunities, including:

  • Academic Support – Tutoring, mentoring, and homework help to strengthen core skills.

  • Enrichment Activities – Music, art, STEM, cultural experiences, and sports that inspire curiosity and teamwork.

  • Leadership & Service – Community service projects that build confidence and civic pride.

  • Family Engagement – Opportunities for parents and caregivers to participate in literacy and educational workshops.

Our Purpose

Authorized under Title IV, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the 21st CCLC program aims to:

  • Provide academic enrichment opportunities to help students meet state and local standards in core subjects like reading and math.

  • Offer a broad array of programs that complement regular school-day learning.

  • Support families through literacy and lifelong learning opportunities.

Where We Serve

Programs are currently available at:

  • Riverside Elementary School

  • Woodward High School

Together, we’re helping students discover their strengths, develop new skills, and build brighter futures — because every child deserves a safe place to learn, grow, and belong.
