A place to belong. A place to grow. A place where neighbors of every age can live healthier, more connected lives.
The new Sylvania YMCA opens in early 2027. It’s being built by people who believe this community is worth showing up for.

For years, our current building has limited how many people we can serve. Programs fill up. Space runs out. Neighbors get turned away.
The new Sylvania YMCA changes that. It creates more room for children, families, seniors, and neighbors across our community. This isn’t about getting bigger. It’s about serving more people, better.

Moving programs to the new building also opens space to expand YMCA Child Care at our current location, so more working families can count on us.

Here’s what you’ll find inside the new Sylvania YMCA: an indoor pool, a court just for pickleball, and space built for gymnastics. The bigger Wellness Center will have brand-new fitness equipment that works for everyone, no matter their fitness level. Every space in the building gives members of all ages new ways to get healthier, feel stronger, and stay connected.

Picture kids running, climbing, and laughing indoors, rain or shine. Your support builds a brand new indoor playground at the Sylvania YMCA, a place where play never has to wait for good weather.

For the first time, Sylvania will have an indoor YMCA pool. That means year-round swim lessons, Safety Around Water programs, and water fitness classes to help adults stay active and build strength. Our current outdoor pool will still be available in the summer, giving members even more ways to stay active.

An indoor walking track will circle the second floor, creating a comfortable, heated space for walking, rehabilitation, and gentle movement throughout the year.

More than 3,000 people join our Healthy Living programs each year. A space in the new building will let us expand programs that support people living with diabetes, heart disease, cancer recovery, Parkinson’s, and other chronic conditions.

Discover EGYM, a smart fitness system that learns from every workout and grows with you. It includes strength machines that track your progress, cardio equipment, and body scan tools. Together, they build custom workout plans that adjust to your goals, right on your phone.

A large gathering lounge will create space for real conversation and connection across generations.
The new facility will include a community food pantry like the one at Wayman Palmer YMCA, where 30% fewer neighbors called a crisis line asking for food in just seven months. We’ve seen a similar need here.
We’re two-thirds of the way there. $4.4 million has been raised toward our $6 million goal. What we build next depends on you.

53,000 square feet of impact
Second floor, open to everyone
The elevator shaft is done. Soon, every member, no matter their ability, will be able to reach the wellness space and studios upstairs.
New locker rooms
The men’s and women’s locker rooms are getting a full renovation.
Crews are working every day to get this done before the end of 2026.
A Kids Zone built for growing families
Your gift is helping build a bigger Kids Zone. Walls are going up. A new bathroom and second exit are on the way, so more kids can play safely while their parents work out.
Elevator construction is underway at the Sylvania YMCA. The new elevator, currently taking shape in the lobby, will provide members with easy access to the second floor.
